Hugh Griffenkranz, MPAS, PAC joined The Carithers Pediatric Group July 2017. Hugh graduated from the University of Florida Physician Assistant Program in 1987 and earned his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2001 from the University of Nebraska. Hugh is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. He began his career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at University Hospital, now know as UF Health Jax. Hugh joined Nemours Children’s Clinic in 1989, where he worked in the Division of Pediatric Surgery for 25 years and Hospital Pediatrics for 3 years. Hugh retired from Nemours after 28 years of service. He is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
Hugh is married to Karen, a Pediatric Physical Therapist for the Duval County School system, and has three grown children; Emily, Dakota and Erica. Emily recently married, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and is now employed by Baptist MD Anderson as a Genetic Counselor. Dakota is attending Law School at FSU and Erica is attending school at FAU. Hugh enjoys family time, BEACH TIME, running (very slowly), Orange Theory workouts and going to the movies. Hugh is eager to become part of the Carithers Pediatric Family.
